מכתב, שנשלח מעכו לוונציה והועבר ליעדו על-ידי
הדואר הוונציאני, 1741.3.42. המכתב כתוב באיטלקית
.בניב ונציאני וממוען לבירות ומשם בספינה לוונציה
הצלב בתחילת השורה הראשונה מציין את הברכה
”בעזרת האל“, וחבל התלייה בסוף השורה השלישית
מהווה אזהרה לשליח על העונש שיהיה מנת חלקו

Acre — Venice, 1471
Folded letter from Acre to Venice dated
24.3.1471 and forwarded by the Venetian
post. Written in Venetian dialect, the letter
was addressed to Beirut, and from there
by galley ship to Venice. The cross at the
beginning of the first row indicates “for
the grace of God,” and a noose at the end
of the third row is probably a warning to
the courier that losing the letter would be
punished by hanging.
