The Jewish Colony Mesha (later called Kfar Tabor) was founded in 1901 in the lower Galilee near the Afula-Sejera road and Mount Tabor. The first settlers were Jewish pioneers, First Aliya immigrants from Romania. The colony served as a center for the “Hashomer” organization, and an important stage in the history of the new Jewish colonization of Palestine in the lower Galilee. As a small community, Mesha did not have a local post office or postal agency of its own, but had to use the postal services in the cities of Tiberias and Nazareth. Almost no postal items are known from the early days of the colony.
