THE PALATINE PICTORIAL COMPANY LTD., Manchester. When the postcard made of aluminum was introduced as a novelty in this country, the problems of its manufacture naturally suggested the idea of an ordinary postcard with a finish that looked like aluminum. The Palatine Pictorial Company Ltd., also known as The Palatine Publishing Company, of 14 Cumberland Street, Manchester, produced this imitation aluminum card and registered it under the name of ‘Alumino’ in 1905. Many cards with views throughout the country will be found bearing this name, but no other name of publisher. Except for this novelty, the company generally published view cards, some under the name Photino- type, which was also registered in 1905. Other cards are called the P.T. Series.
