Phillipa Anna Fredrica Stephenson, a British artist, was active in the early part of the 20th century. P.A.F. Stephenson visited and painted in the Holy Land in 1907 and later in the 1920's. Her Galilee and Jerusalem watercolor and pencil drawings were exhibited in London in 1932 and 1937. The artist published her Holy Land voyage memoires with illustrations in My Magazine. This British publication, intended for youngsters, covered articles on science, technology, geography and current affairs. Another of P.A.F. Stephenson's initiatives was a series of twenty-six picture postcards published in 1929, depicting Holy Land religious and historical sites and monuments. Some of the paintings were copied from her articles in My Magazine. Stephenson's postcard paintings excel in vivid colors reflecting the local ambience.
